Auckland Castle has been the home of the Bishops of Durham for over 800 years, and is still the Bishop's official residence today.
This historic building is the administrative centre for the Diocese, as well as a notable tourist attraction.
A conferencing centre is located within what was formerly a self-contained flat where Queen Victoria is reputed to have stayed.
The Castle has excellent facilities for weddings, concerts and social functions. The scale of charges is negotiable for charities or diocesan, ecumenical or education purposes.
