Photography
Whatever the season Auckland Castle and its well-tended gardens provide a wonderful backdrop for photographic opportunities.

We know all the tucked away corners and impressive vistas. Even if it rains, there are no shortage of indoor areas which lend themselves to stunning photographs so you needn’t worry about losing out to the weather.

We would encourage you to choose a style of photography (and a photographer) that suits your personalities as a couple.

Photographs are an important element of your wedding day, because they remain for generations to come as a record of details and precious moments that cannot easily be re-created.

Drink
The Auckland Castle wine cellar houses a collection of fine champagne and wines. If a particular wine is favoured we will endeavour to source it for you.

We do not believe in restrictive drinks packages, but prefer to put together an individual package. You set a limit of bottles or glasses to be served, and we ensure it is not exceeded on the day, giving you complete control.

Room Hire
There is facility fee for the exclusive hire of St Peter’s Chapel and staterooms. This price covers the hire of these rooms between 11.30am and 12 – midnight, organist and statutory fees and car park attendant.

Numbers
The Castle facilities only are offered for exclusive use for weddings,  therefore you would not be sharing the venue with anyone else. Very few venues offer this exclusivity, and it is reflected in our facility fee.

With this in mind, please note that on Fridays & Saturdays payment is required for a minimum number of 80 people to the Wedding Breakfast.

Flowers
Flowers for the venue are often left until last but should be treated with equal importance to the bride’s bouquet. It is advisable that the florist chosen not only knows the venue but also understands the style and ambience you are trying to create – it’s about enhancing the venue.

Transport
This is the start to your very special day and ought to set the scene. Your cars should say, “I have arrived”.

Cake
The cake whatever your style should be stunning and one of the many talking points of the day. As your guests may take a piece of your cake home, the quality is of utmost importance as this will be their lasting reminder of a fantastic day.
